WHAT TO EXPECT ON YOUR TRIAL & WEDDING DAY

THE TRIAL

It's important that every part of your big day goes smoothly and a huge part of that is feeling amazing when you walk down the aisle. Having a trial for your makeup is a 100% guarantee that you will be happy with your complete look.

WHEN SHOULD I BOOK MY TRIAL?

I recommend booking your trial at least 3-5 months before your wedding.

WHERE DOES THE TRIAL TAKE PLACE?

I am happy to travel to you for your trial but I also have a space I do makeup services if necessary.

HOW LONG DOES THE TRIAL TAKE?

I like to take time with my brides and make sure they are completely happy with their look. I usually a lot up to 1hr 30mins this also gives me time to write down any notes and take photos. With bridesmaids I a lot up to 1 hour.

CAN I TRY DIFFERENT STYLES?

Within reason yes! That is the beauty of a trial however I would suggest you have a good idea of what looks you would like to try so that I can fit them into the time of our session.

WHAT DO I NEED TO DO FOR THE TRIAL?

Please try to come to your trial without makeup this means I can use as much time focusing on your makeup look.

Bring references if you like! In fact this can be really helpful so I can get an idea of the type of look you want to go for.

THE WEDDING DAY

You made it! Yes it's really happening.

WHAT HAPPENS ON THE WEDDING DAY?

I like to arrive 15 minutes earlier than the time I need to start the makeup in order to set up. I tend to bring my own lighting and chair in order to make sure everything goes a smoothly as possible. Even if I finish the makeup early I like to stay with you until the moment you leave in order to do any last minute touch-ups.

HOW LONG SHOULD I ALLOW FOR MY MAKEUP?

The bridal party getting ready can be very exciting and usually full of greetings, champagne drinking and last minute organising. To make sure that I can work around all of the excitement I like to a lot at least 1 full hour for my brides and 45 minutes for bridesmaids.

CAN YOU STAY FOR TOUCHUPS THROUGHOUT THE DAY?

I can but it will be for an extra fee to be discussed if needed. I would say that it shouldn't be necessary with how the makeup is applied (I put a lot of effort into priming!) and you should ask one of you bridal party to become your glam squad and have any makeup needed for touch-ups ready in a bag for you.

FAQ

I HAVE SENSITIVE SKIN, WHAT PRODUCTS DO YOU USE?

I use lots of different products from different brands (Bobbi Brown, Nars, Scott Barnes ect...) if you have any specific allergies or products you are sensitive to let me know and I can work around you and make sure everything we use sits perfectly on your skin.

DO BRIDESMAIDS NEED TO HAVE A TRIAL RUN?

Yes and No. There are lots of reasons for and against bridesmaids trials I think it's unique to each bridal party. Ask yourself questions! Do you want your bridesmaids to all have a uniform look? Do you think it would run smoother knowing there won't be any indecisiveness? Will your bridesmaids be happy with a simple look pre discussed without a trial? It's up to you!

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

Whatever is comfortable! But if you feel like it would be beneficial to wear something that is along your colour scheme or if white would help you envision your complete look then by all means do that.

WILL THE MAKEUP LAST ALL DAY & WHAT IF I CRY?

Yes! I make sure I use products that are known for their staying power and I work with each individual brides skin type to know what works for them. I heavily suggest waterproof mascara in case of any tears and make sure your bridesmaids have tissues to hand.

I HAVE A LARGE BRIDAL PARTY, WILL YOU BE ABLE TO MANAGE EVERYONE?

It is highly likely that if your bridal party is more than 3 I will need another makeup artist. In this case it will be a makeup artist I highly trust and has a similar style to myself. This may also include an extra fee.
